2018 is a celebratory year! The ABPI, the ABPI Code of Practice and the PMCPA are recognising our 70th, 60th and 25th birthdays respectively. We want to celebrate by sharing the work we do in partnership with so many others, especially the NHS who are also celebrating their own special anniversary.
The ABPI Annual Conference on Thursday 26 April 2018 will focus on how we can ensure patients in the UK get the care they deserve for the decades to come - from the medical breakthroughs that have improved and saved the lives of millions of patients to a future where new technologies and innovative medicines will help secure a world leading NHS.
We’re delighted that Simon Stevens, Chief Executive of the NHS will join us and reflect on the NHS at 70, and his vision for working with industry. This will be complemented by Jon Rouse, Chief Officer, Greater Manchester Health and Social Care partnership, and Heath Innovation Manchester who will introduce their approach to healthcare improvement, explaining how to get involved, and showcasing three live case studies which demonstrate improvements to patient care through joint projects with companies.
The UK remains at the leading edge of scientific breakthrough and Keith Thompson CEO of the Cell & Gene Catapult will give an insight into some of the latest innovations. Professor Sir Mark Walport Chief Executive, UKRI will lay out his vision as he takes on his new role and the opportunities through the Industrial Challenge Innovation Fund.
Come and join us together with Lord O’Shaughnessy, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Health, Nathalie Moll Director General, EFPIA, as well as experts from academia, patient groups and our members as we shape the opportunities and the landscape for us all post Brexit.
