We work with medical research charities and patient organisations to support our work, encourage industry and charity collaboration and to ensure that the patient is at the heart of what we do as an industry to deliver more impactful medicines.
The patient organisation forum meets quarterly and provides a forum for Government and healthcare stakeholders to engage both charities and patient organisations and industry at the same time in developing policy. This forum is open to ABPI member companies and to registered charitable patient organisations only.
The ABPI works with patient organisations to deliver shared goals and priorities.
Our annual conference with AMRC, Patients First looks at how industry and medical research and patient organisations can better work together.
To support our policy development, the ABPI holds roundtables to ensure that our policies reflect the patient perspective and broader priorities from the life sciences sector. For example, we have recently held workshops on understanding the value of medicines for patients, oncology end points and the commissioning of medicines.
